CEE SIC 2008
Content Rating and Mobile Internet Safety Conference
Following the successful CEE SIC 2007 international conference of the November last year and the Internet&Law highly representative conference of this June, the Saferinternet CZ project and the Safer Internet Institute decided to repeat the event in December 15, 2008. This time the event will be even more focused on actual hot topics of the mobile industry.
The Czech mobile market belongs to the most developed one in Europe. Due a range of linguistic and cultural specialities, it might become an interesting testing field of new technologies and methodological approaches in many fields.
MAIN TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED
1. Cross-Media Content Classification
a. TV, Internet and mobile content – how to rate it?
b. Social responsibility versus censorship – where is the edge?
c. Age verification – where and how to do it?
2. European Framework for Safer Mobile Use by Younger Teenagers and Children
a. Where we are, what has been and what shall be done
b. Self regulation and competition/cooperation of mobile industry stakeholders
c. On the road to content filtering - one multilingual Trans-European engine? (PEGI, BBFC, ICRA, ...)
3. Cyber crime (ISPs, online content providers, mobile operators, law enforcement bodies)
a. Filtering and self regulation: European and/or national law – what is feasible?
b. Social networking, dating, stalking and cyber-bullying - where is the distinction?
c. Next forms of cyber-crime we can expect: Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 – where is the danger?
