CEE SIC 2007
Safer Internet, new media and the European Framework for mobile use by Children
"The Prague event is a form of "field trial" for the Commission's concept of "regional stakeholder meetings". In line with that concept, it should be "invitation only" with a small delegation from each country - about 5 - drawn from the various stakeholders," Richard Swetenham, European Commission.
The objective of the meeting is to discuss the important issues of the safer use of the Internet, new media and mobile phones. It is the first working meeting of the national Safer Internet projects in the region to introduce the state-of-the-art of the safer internet issues in the different countries of the region, put main national and international stakeholders together with EU representatives to discuss common trans-national tasks of the Safer Internet Plus program and exchange the best practises.
Representatives of the operating regional SI projects, delegates of national law enforcement bodies, industry, ISPs and mobile operators will be given an opportunity to have their say to common tasks on the road to the safer and more friendly Internet, new media and mobile communication.
